The purpose of Earth Week 2020 is to create an educational, engaging, and impactful week to help shed a light on environmental issues and celebrate our planet Earth by extending Earth Day, April 22, 2020 throughout an entire week, April 18, 2020 - April 24, 2020. This year, April 22, 2020 will mark the 50th anniversary of Earth Day.
Due to COVID-19, the in-person activities of Earth Week have been canceled.
Why it matters: As Islanders, we have a responsibility to protect and preserve our island campus and planet as a whole. TAMU-CC is a higher learning institution that needs to set an example of environmental sustainability to our students and surrounding community. Doing this will help prepare our graduates for lifelong learning and responsible citizenship within the global community. Earth Week 2020 is an event dedicated to environmental education, stewardship, research, creative activity and service, which all align with the overall mission of TAMU-CC.
