University Services Green Initiatives
Use 30% recycled content in University pay-for-print stations (printers and copiers) and administrative copiers managed by University Services.
Recycle unused paper from pay-for-print stations.
Used plastic toner cartridges are sent back to the manufacturer for reuse.
Print shop places all paper trimming and waste paper in the city’s recycled container.
Dining services diverts 100% of its fryer oil waste to companies that reuse.
All cardboard handled by food service is placed in recycling containers.
Dining services reduces paper use by following a “both sides to the shredder policy”. Both sides of the paper are used for printing documents for internal use.
Dining Services piloted a reusable to-go container program which promotes reduction of Styrofoam and paper use.
Digital displays are replacing traditional paper flyers in food services to reduce use of paper in our operations.
The reusable mug program encourages patrons to help reduce use of paper cups and receive a discount on coffee and/or fountain drinks.
Campus copies is installing a digital display to replace paper flyers and price schedules.
Dining Services has transitioned to recycled paper for all napkin and paper towel products.
Mail Services recycles shredded paper by reusing it as package stuffing.
Green Seal-Certified cleaning products are being used by our Custodial Services partner across campus.
The microfiber cleaning cloths, mops and HEPA-filtered vacuums now in use as part of the Green Cleaning initiative are contributing to cleaner indoor-air while reducing our impact on the environment through reduced chemical usage.
